It really makes a difference in California! It comes with two layers but I only needed the first mesh one.
Biggest concern for me was if I could actually align this properly. The lower "slightly narrower" part of the film goes into this gap that pretty much self auto-align it for you. Other than that pretty straight forward and I like the matte finish.
Purchased a 22 MYP and wanted to protect the rear cargo area and back of second row seats and these mats fit perfectly and look amazing! Would definitely recommend these for your Model Y

I'm actually really happy with the trunk well mat. It hovered at first (would not snugly fit) but after a couple of uses, it fit right it. Not stuck or anything, just a nice fit.
Installed the liner in seconds. Perfect fit, not very thick material but doesn't really need to be since I am not going to carry truck parts or other heavy sharp objects. Should do what it is supposed to do.
